10 ways to not gain weight this Hari Raya

Ah those delicious lemang, ketupat.. those mouth watering rendang. But hey, we have to admit it, they are not the most healthy food in the world. But you’ve got to enjoy life and live life to the fullest right? So, stop feeling guilty afterwards, and enjoy your food during Raya without the weight gain!

  1. Use a small plate.

Using a small plate will give you the impression (and the hosts’) that you’ve already eaten more than enough.

2. You can eat EVERYTHING but in small portion

Lets be fair to ourselves, shall we? There is really no point of being too hard on ourselves by saying no to all the foods available during festive season. This actually might cost us to binge eating later. My advice us to have a taste of all the food you want, but in small portion

3. Choose more protein than carbs

So, if you’re going to take rendang and ketupat, make sure you take more rendang then ketupat. This is because, protein can help to maintain a healthy weight

4. Drink water. Lots of it.

Time to ditch those sweet drinks and opt for water instead. Not only sweet drinks are bad for you, it also makes the process of losing weight more difficult later.

5. Eat and chew slowly

Researches found that people who eat and chew slowly ate 12% less than people who don’t

6. Pile up your plate with veges

This way has been proved to work, and it has been recognized as a way to protect your body against obesity

7. If you can, workout the next day

Now I know this might be very difficult to do during the holiday season, but it is also very essential to keep the weight off. Plus, its healthy too.

8. Take it easy

Hey, it is the holiday season, and you should be enjoying yourself. The last thing you need is to be worried. Take it easy and enjoy yourself!

Selamat Hari Raya

Maaf Zahir Batin!

Enjoy your break, and happy holiday!
